Derivatives of Aortic Arches

  • First Aortic Arches:
    • Arterial Structures: Part of maxillary arteries bilaterally.
  • Second Aortic Arches:
    • Arterial Structures: Stapedial and hyoid arteries bilaterally.
  • Third Aortic Arches:
    • Arterial Structures: Common carotid arteries and proximal portion of internal carotid arteries bilaterally.
  • Fourth Aortic Arches:
    • Arterial Structures:
      • Right: Proximal portion of the right subclavian artery.
      • Left: Aortic arch.
  • Fifth Aortic Arch:
    • Arterial Structures: Regress completely.
  • Sixth Aortic Arch:
    • Arterial Structures:
      • Right: Proximal right pulmonary artery.
      • Left: Proximal left pulmonary artery, ductus arteriosus.
